Boys and men on the frontline of change

Gender equality cannot be achieved by women and girls alone. Fathers often decide when a daughter leaves school or gets married. Boys become the husbands, colleagues and leaders of tomorrow. Wreetu engages boys and men as allies, promoting positive masculinities and shared responsibility.

For boys

Our sessions and our puberty guide for boys give accurate information about their changing bodies and feelings, and teach them about menstruation, consent, respect and the harm of bullying. Boys who understand become supporters, not bullies.

For fathers

Be Your Daughter's Superhero, South Asia's first period guide for dads, and its video series help fathers talk openly with their daughters. More than 4,700 fathers and young men are using it. Research shows that girls whose fathers support them through puberty grow up more confident and do better in school.

For religious and community leaders

We work with imams, community elders and local leaders, who hold great influence, to speak up for girls' health, education and the end of child marriage.

Young men leading

Young men in our youth network, like Sumon and Mehedi, lead sessions and campaigns, showing other boys that standing up for gender equality is strength.
